Move over Mom Who Got Daughter Wasted On Margaritas and make room for Mom Who Made Her Daughter Fight. A Pennsylvania woman was arrested yesterday after video surfaced showing her ordering her daughter to fight another girl in an elementary school parking lot in Delaware County. 45-year-old Michele Davenport was hit with multiple charges, including corruption of minors, and her daughter was charged with assault because she gave the other girl a concussion.
Davenport egged on the fight because she believed her daughter was being bullied. On the video below, you can hear her tell the alleged bully, "I am going to see her kick your ass. That's what I want to see, OK? And I'm her mother, and she's going to do it. And not one of these girls is going to jump in, because if they jump in, I am jumping in, you understand me?" At one point the girls seem to want to stop the conflict and try to shake hands, but Davenport hectors them to keep fighting.
At a press conference, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told reporters, "Mom still does not believe this is a big deal. She can't understand why she was arrested." The incident comes on the heels of another fight in January in nearby Darby Township, which left 12-year-old bullying victim Bailey O'Neil dead. And last month video shocking video surfaced showing two young girls being ordered to fight by teenagers in a Bronx park.
