An MTA spokesman tells us that at 5:20 a.m., a northbound R train "struck a person on the roadbed" at the 4th Avenue and 77th Street R train stop in Brooklyn. The victim is deceased. Currently the MTA says there is "no train service between the Bay Ridge-95th Street Station and the 59th Street Station in both directions." We'll update as we know more.
Update 8:48 a.m.: The MTA says R train service has now resumed, with residual delays.
