Police arrested a third person in connection with a mass shooting that took place at a hookah lounge in Crown Heights last year.
The NYPD said it arrested Haile Cummings, 34, on Monday evening. The Brooklyn man is now facing a murder charge.
Police previously arrested Timothy Spence, 21, and Elijah Roy, 25, for their alleged involvement in the mass shooting in August 2025. Spence was arrested on an attempted murder charge and Roy was arrested on a murder charge, according to the NYPD.
Spence has since pleaded guilty in federal court to assault in aid of racketeering and discharging a firearm during a violent crime. Federal prosecutors said the shooting grew out of a dispute between rival gangs.
Police said the shooting took place shortly before 3:30 a.m. at 903 Franklin Ave., the location of Taste of the City Lounge, a Caribbean restaurant and hookah bar.
When officers arrived, they found numerous people with gunshot wounds. Marvin St. Louis, 19, and Jamel Childs, 35, were taken to Kings County Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Amadou Diallo, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nine other people with gunshot wounds were taken by ambulance to local hospitals in stable condition. Police said two others made their own way to hospitals and were also listed in stable condition.
Attorney information for Cummings was not immediately available to Gothamist.
