A truck caught fire at the entrance of the Queensboro Bridge on the Manhattan side, causing traffic delays. According to the FDNY, it was a "standard engine block fire" but the truck was carrying oxygen tanks, and one of them exploded, which startled those nearby (one Reddit user said it sounded like lightning while another said it was a "huge bang").

There was thick black smoke as well:

The FDNY received the call about the fire at 6:57 p.m. and it was under control by 8:05 p.m. There were no injuries.
