Last night just after 8 p.m., a man on the northbound platform of the 40th Street and Queens Blvd No. 7 elevated train was fatally pushed into the path of an oncoming train by a woman who witnesses say had been "walking back and forth on the platform, talking to herself." Earlier today surveillance video showing the suspect running away from the scene was released, and this evening the NYPD has released a sketch of the woman, who they describe as being hispanic, in her twenties, heavy set, and approximately 5'5'' with brown or blonde hair. Witnesses said she was wearing a blue, white and grey ski jacket and grey/red Nike sneakers.
The NYPD has also confirmed that the victim was 46-year-old Sunando Sen of Corona, Queens.
A $12,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the woman. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at www.NYPDCrimeStoppers.com or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
