A home invasion turned violent earlier this morning, leaving an 82-year-old woman in Harlem battered and bloody. Around 11:30 a.m. police arrived at 139th Street where an elderly woman had recently come out of her home, bleeding from all over and begging for help. "She said there were two teenagers that tried to rob her," a plumber working on the block told the News. "She said they were robbing her, stabbing her everywhere—in the face, the head, the arms. It was bad, really bad."

On the street the woman repeatedly asked for someone to go and help her husband, who was still inside, before passing out. By the time police arrived the woman was unconscious from her injuries but a trip inside revealed her husband, alive and unharmed but looking "shocked and numb." Both were taken to hospitals and both are expected to make it through okay.

Unfortunately the perps got away and the police do not yet have a description of them. It is unclear if they absconded with any of the couple's valuables.
