Firefighters extinguished a blaze at Bryant Park in Midtown on Friday morning and were working to determine what caused it, according to the FDNY.

No injuries were reported. A spokesperson for the fire department said an emergency call came in shortly before 9:30 a.m.

The fire broke out in a shed at the annual holiday market in the park, he said.

Joe Castellano, a battalion chief for the FDNY, said firefighters brought the fire under control by about 10 a.m. At its peak, it was about 6 feet wide by 40 feet long, he said.

Fire marshals were still investigating the cause of the blaze, Castellano added, noting the affected kiosks appeared to contain some kind of cooking equipment.

A spokesperson for the Bryant Park Corp., which oversees the park, said most of the holiday shops that were not affected by the fire have reopened, with the remainder expected to reopen later on Friday.

Several social media users posted videos and images of the fire showing smoke billowing from a few sheds.

New York City Emergency Management advised people to avoid the area and expect traffic delays and road closures.

Another holiday market at Midtown's Herald Square partially caught on fire earlier this month but later reopened.
