The police say the body of a fatally shot man was found in a Queens park yesterday afternoon, and it was reportedly discovered by a family who had been sledding.
According to the NYPD, officers responded to a call about an unconscious person inside Astoria Park, at 24-02 19th Street, just after 2:30 p.m.: Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a 42 year old male, with a gunshot wound to the head lying on the ground near the pool located inside of the park." The man was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.
PIX 11 reports, "Sources tell PIX11 that a mother was sledding with her children when they found a body inside the park."
