The father of a 15-year-old boy who was fatally shot while sitting on a stoop in the Bronx believes that his son was a victim of mistaken identity, and said of the shooters, "they took away my son from me. And it hurts, it really hurts." Tashawn Bromfield had been visiting his dad, Basil, in the Bronx for the weekend, and was in the city for just a few hours when the shooting happened. His father had reportedly told him to stay indoors, but he and a friend decided to drink Slurpees on his front steps. "He came to New York City to spend a weekend with his dad," said Basil Bromfield. "It could happen to anybody's kid."
