You might want to extend "Bike to Work Day" into "Bike All Weekend" if you live along certain parts of the F and G lines. Once again, from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, there is no G service in two sections of the line: between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues, and between Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets and Church Avenue. Free shuttle buses will run between Queens Plaza and Bedford-Nostrand Avenue, and between Jay Street and Church Avenue. PLEASE BE PATIENT!

The ongoing G train suspensions are due to a "track chip out" north of Metropolitan Avenue and work on the Culver Viaduct. Speaking of old Culver Viaduct, those free shuttle buses will also be replacing F trains between Jay Street and Church Avenue. (The suspension is also due to Jay Street station rehabilitation, and the construction of the underground connector at Lawrence Street.) That means F and G train riders will once again be getting to know each other really well on those shuttle buses. Let's make it a party!?

And the G train pain is seemingly never-ending. "There are plans for more track work around Metropolitan Avenue on the G for later summer or early fall," says MTA spokeswoman Deirdre Parker. "However, the dates are not on the schedule as yet. Depending on other work on nearby lines, the weekends may or may not be consecutive or they may be moved to 2011." The suspense is almost as unbearable as waiting for the G.
