A Brooklyn man currently on trial is accused of robbing his girlfriend's uncle in a terrorizing attack last year. Christopher Carmona allegedly stormed into Julio Boissard's tailor shop in Greenpoint in March 2010, and put a gun to his head while demanding money. But robbery is mere farthings compared to what he did next: Carmona allegedly stomped two of Boissard's pet doves to death.

Boissard was in tears describing the attack by Carmona, who he's known for years and whom the News labels an "avian assassin." He claims that when Carmona realized all he had on hand was $24 and an iPod, he pulled the older man to a back room where he kept 10 pet doves. "He took out one of the little birds. He tossed it on the floor. He took out another and did the same," he testified. Carmona then tried to stab him, but failed; so he instead whacked him with a cane, and threatened to kill him if he called the cops.

Carmona's attorney argued that Boissard doesn't know what he's talking about: "What happened on that day, he has no idea. He has reason to believe the story was fabricated." But Boissard noted that he had given his niece and Carmona some cash now and again, but he refused them a week before the attack, prompting the couple to start making harassing calls. Boissard also described how shaken he was after throwing his dead doves into the garbage after the attack: "My mind wasn't okay. I was afraid he'll come back and kill me." If Mike Tyson cares even half as much about other birds as he does about pigeons, we hope he never runs into Carmona...for Carmona's sake.
