Kickball is a child's game, likely because children rarely file lawsuits when they hurt themselves playing it. But with schoolyard sports increasingly co-opted by light beer-loving finance bros, the only surprise is that the lawsuits didn't start rolling in sooner.
Now one Manhattan man is suing his kickball league, ZogSports, after fracturing his nose and elbow on a field he claims was too small to accommodate his adult-level moves.
According to the Post, Amol Gupta slipped on the grass while running into home but slammed into a retaining wall, hurting himself.
“Among the responsibilities of ZogSports were to set up and provide for the location and placement of bases, a pitching mound, foul lines, base lines, boundaries, and other aspects of the physical layout where the April 27 kickball game would take place,” the suit reads.
He is suing for unspecified damages.
