For the past several hours Central Park has been reporting "unknown precip" falling from the sky.

Parts of New York City have become enshrouded in a thick, impenetrable fog.

The historic city of Gotham was extinguished by a thick fog this morning, reducing visibility to a quarter mile or less.

Fire Commissioner Cassano said, "What we hope to gain out here is a small advantage in how we fight fires."
