Parts of New York City have become enshrouded in a thick, impenetrable fog. Here at Gothamist HQ in Brooklyn, we've completely lost sight of Manhattan (whatever!), and can report that half of the Manhattan Bridge appears to be, well, missing at this hour. We're currently blasting the Rebecca Black to drown out the horrifying sounds of cars plunging into the East River. Just your typical Friday!

According to the Port Authority, the fog's been so thick it has delayed flights at LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark airports. Here's the caps-lock warning from the National Weather Service:

THE COMBINATION OF A WARM FRONT JUST TO THE SOUTH OF LONG ISLAND AND A STRONG LOW-LEVEL INVERSION KEEPING MOISTURE TRAPPED NEAR THE SURFACE...WILL RESULT IN AREAS OF FOG THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. SOME OF THIS FOG...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST AND VALLEY LOCATIONS...MAY BE LOCALLY DENSE.

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING VISIBILITIES. WHEN
ENCOUNTERING FOG...SLOW DOWN...USE YOUR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS...
AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU IN CASE A SUDDEN STOP IS
NEEDED.
