'Everyone who rides a bike around this city knows that any time you're around a police station, any government building, you're dealing with cars on the sidewalk and in bike lanes.'

Like the 53rd Street and Bay Ridge Av stops before it, the Prospect Av stop is going under for 6 months for some renovations.

Like the 53rd Street R station last month, the Bay Ridge Avenue station will close so that a number of station improvements can be made.

The stations will close in both directions for six months in order for construction crews to overhaul them completely.

Park Slope residents are worried eliminating a lane of traffic will only add to congestion problems.

The DOT unveiled renderings of its proposed changes to 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, to the predictable irritation of some motorists.

"Residents of Park Slope and points east can now avoid crossing busy 4th Avenue in order to get to the station."
