Where were you the day the bread stopped? The Jamaica, Queens, Wonder Bread factory bakes its last loaves this afternoon, after 130 years of bringing bread to the masses. Hostess, which owns Wonder Bread, blames the closing on the excessive costs required to modernize the factory. It's trying to sell the building and a neighboring garage. Meanwhile the adjacent factory outlet will stay open for the foreseeable future, moving elsewhere in Queens once the building is sold. Oh, and 175 workers are out of a job.
