The woman seen in a MTA surveillance video being beaten and apparently abducted at a Long Island Rail Road station has come forward to tell the MTA that she's "safe."
The MTA released the chilling video on Friday. The footage, taken on March 4 at the Ronkonkoma station, showed a man punching a woman who got off a train. He then proceeds to harass and physically hurt the woman for several minutes around the station before throwing her in the back of his car.
According to Newsday, "An MTA spokesman Sunday night would not say whether anyone has been arrested or charged in the incident and would not identify the nature of the relationship, if any, between the man and woman on the footage." The statement said, "The MTA Police are continuing their investigation into the incident."
