The police are hoping the public can help identify a suspect wanted in an attempted rape that occurred this past weekend in Brooklyn.
According to the NYPD, at 3 a.m. on February 1st, a 32-year-old woman was walking near Troy Avenue and Park Place "when an unknown male approached her from behind and offered to pay her for sex. The victim refused and the suspect then pushed her to the ground, grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to free herself and ran from the location." The victim was not injured, and the suspect fled the scene.
The police released a sketch of the suspect, describing him as being in his 30s, about 6', 180 pounds and wearing a black skull cap, headphones, a black hoodie, a black waist-length North Face bubble jacket and black pants. Police say he also spoke in an African accent.
