A building superintendent was carjacked at gunpoint in the West Village this morning—and the thief made off with his idling truck. And it's partly Hercules' fault.
The super had been shoveling snow at Christopher and Hudson streets just after 9 a.m. this morning. He left his car idling—and unattended—to warm up. According to the Daily News, the suspect, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, threatened the super with a silver revolver. Officials tell the tabloid the carjacker shouted, 'Back up!' at him, then jumped into the truck and drove away.
The suspect was reportedly wearing "brown jacket, black pants and a red hat" and headed to the West Side Highway.
