While investigating the fatal stabbing of a nine-year-old boy in a Harlem housing project, police officers uncovered video of a building resident abusing a dog, according to the Huffington Post. In their review of surveillance tapes from the elevators of the General Grant Houses, cops found footage showing 21-year-old suspect Chris Grant coaxing a 10-pound Pomeranian-Chihuahua, named Chuvi-Duvi, to climb on his leg before kicking it repeatedly.

Here's the video, which is rather graphic.

The same five officers responsible for nabbing Alejandro Morales — who is suspected of stabbing 9-year-old Anthony Maldonado to death — apprehended Grant. He has been charged with torturing and injuring an animal and resisting arrest. Chuvi-Duvi didn't suffer any broken bones and was treated at the Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital in the Upper East Side. While NY1 and the HuffPo say the pooch belongs to Grant's girlfriend, the Daily News spoke with a man who claims to be the pooch's owner. "I'm not trusting nobody with my dog," said Melvin Rodriguez, 22, who picked up Chuvi-Duvi from the ASPCA last night.
