A severely emaciated dog was discovered behind a dumpster off of Bruckner Blvd, so weak she couldn't even stand up and was only barely able to lift her head—but it looks like she's in for a happy ending, as caretakers have been carefully nursing the pup, which they've named Ella, back to health.
Ella, a pit bull mix, was found last month by the New York Animal Care & Control, barely alive and unable to move. They rushed her to a shelter, where staffers have been working to get her eating and exercising more. She's currently recovering in the care of a foster home, and is expected to be available for adoption within the next three to four weeks.
