Some updates to two Tuesday murders that took place in Brooklyn. First, Janine Harrington, who ran over one of her boyfriends with her SUV, was denied bail. Harrington, who thought that Jeffrey Moore had cheated on her, ran over Moore as he was riding on a bicycle near Chauncey and Rockaway. The SUV belonged to Harrington's different, live-in boyfriend.
Police are still looking for William Van Utrecht, who is suspected of shooting his brother Steven on the front stoop of their mother's home in Cobble Hill. The middle-aged brothers allegedly got into a fight outside and William Van Utrecht left the scene, after saying, "Call the police! I just shot my brother."
Steven Van Utrecht would have turned 47 today, and his daughter Stephanie told the Daily News that her father and uncle would "argue about everything, all the time, but nobody expected this." The police said, "We don't know what the argument was about at this time. I'm sure when we find the brother, we'll figure it out." Steven Van Utrecht was a neighborhood fixture, and one neighbor told us that while he was a little odd (he was known to yell or loudly sing), he was a nice guy.
