Early this morning, a three alarm fire broke out in the basement of a building on Cliff Street in Manhattan's Financial District. According to WABC 7, a bartender at Ryan Maguire's Ale House "smelled smoke just after 2:30 a.m." The fire, which reportedly started in an outlet in a closet, spread to the first floor, seriously damaging the restaurant and bar, while smoke reached the apartments above it (residents were treated for smoke inhalation). The FDNY is investigating the cause.
