Prosecutors say the defendants assaulted Yeremi Colina, a Venezuelan migrant who was living in a city shelter, in the Financial District in December.

Police said Yeremi Colina was stabbed to death in a confrontation earlier this month. His mother said he was hardworking and a fervent soccer player.

Police said the three suspects had a verbal dispute with the 17-year-old before he was stabbed.
