A court order issued on Wednesday putting a temporary hold on e-hails for yellow cabs has gone pretty much ignored by the two companies previously authorized to make the apps. According to the Daily News, both Uber and Hailo are still alive and functioning as of last night.
Taxi & Limousine Commission spokesperson Allan Fromberg said only that “the court order speaks for itself, and we expect all to respect it." He did not elaborate on whether the companies would face any repercussions.
Uber declined to comment, and Hailo has yet to respond. Hmmm. In the meantime, go forth and e-hail, at your own risk.
