A woman is suing Crunch Gym after getting seriously hurt during a stripper pole fitness class. The victim will try to prove that the instructor at the notorious meatmarket gym neglected her during her first attempt at dirty dancing.
According to the Daily News, the amateur dancer, Sue Ann Wee, says she fell from the pole in June at an upper East side Crunch. She was attempting to cozy up to the pole, feet to the ceiling, when she tried to hail down the instructor. "He just left her hanging," said Wee's lawyer. The resulting fall kept Wee out of work for six months, and now she wants what's coming to her.
Wee's lawyer claims the fitness educator ignored the fledgling pole dancer at her time of need, and that Wee was pressured into the upside-down grind. "The problem is not with these types of classes," said her lawyer. "The problem comes when you don't properly supervise the people in those classes." At the very least, Wee's experience should serve as a warning to all those New Yorker trying to look sexy at the gym. Maybe pole dancing should be left to the professionals?
