Police are looking for a brazen man who attempted to break into a New Dorp home twice in one afternoon. The woman who lives in the house received a call from her children around 11 a.m. on Friday, saying they heard strange footsteps inside the house. An alarm rang and scared him off, but he returned just a half an hour later.

The mother returned to the house after the phone call, and heard screaming from her daughter's room. She said, "Her screen was open, she had opened it because she heard something, so she went to look out and that's where she saw the same guy that had left earlier, in the matter of a half-hour. And he grabbed at her arm and yanked at her arm to try to pull her out the window, and then he jumped and left." Now, the family is afraid to stay in the home. "We've been here for not even a year and this is the second time somebody's tried to break into our house."

Police say the suspect is in his mid 20s and had a scar over his right eye. He was joined by a female accomplice, also in her 20s.
