Originally there was going to be quite a bit of subway work this weekend. But then the weather forecast came in predicting actual cold (and snow!) and whatdayaknow, the MTA went and canceled most of it. Though if you live past Lorimer on the L, this is still an L Hell weekend.
Yup, L riders, you know the drill. No service between Lorimer and Broadway Junction (though there is a free shuttle bus). As for other service work that remains planned? The 7 train remains screwy between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square, and the uptown 1 is doing its express between Chambers and 14th Street. Otherwise the MTA is putting its resources into trying to keep service humming in the cold.
