Last night, the police released a photograph of the suspect in Friday's L train murder and identified him as Ryan Beauchamp, 33.

Police say that Beauchamp verbally argued with 20-year-old Joshua Basin of Howard Beach on an L train. At the Bedford Avenue station, the pair got out and Beauchamp allegedly initiated a physical altercation—he supposedly uttered, "It's showtime"— with Basin that landed both of them in the tracks. Beauchamp apparently managed to get out and flee while Basin was struck by a Manhattan-bound L train, getting pinned between platform and the train. Basin was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.

The NYPD, which also released surveillance video of the suspect, say that Beauchamp has pock marks on the right side of his face. The Post says that a tipster contacted the police after seeing the sketch and then a witness picked out Beauchamp's picture from a photo array. And the Daily News reports that Beauchamp, who had lashed out at other passengers on the train, is homeless.
