A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor trailer this afternoon near the Barclays Center. Police say that a man in his 40s was crossing the street at the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. when he was struck by a tractor trailer heading north. The Post interviewed Joe Marino, a construction worker who was driving when he witnessed the incident: "The truck dragged him a good 15 feet. I got out of the truck to tell him he ran over someone and he said he didn’t even know. If I hadn’t stopped him he would have kept going."
It's unclear if the pedestrian was crossing with or against the light, but an NYPD spokesperson says that the victim was crossing outside of the crosswalk. The incident remains under investigation.
