What's worse than driving without a license? Driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.32—the legal limit is 0.08! State troopers say they arrested a Fishkill resident Heidi Herring, who was allegedly driving drunk and without a license on Long Island early yesterday morning
According to WABC 7, "Officials say troopers from the State Police Farmingdale Station responded to a report of an erratic red Ford minivan on the Southern State Parkway around 8:25 a.m. on Sunday. Troopers spotted the vehicle making an unsafe exit at Route 109." They found Herring, who allegedly smelled of alcohol and "had bloodshot and watery eyes and slurred speech."
State troopers also say that Herring failed a sobriety test and that her blood alcohol content was 0.32. (Oh, and her license has been suspended 10 times.) The state police say those with BAC of 0.05 or greater may be legally impaired while those with BAC of 0.08 and over are legally intoxicated. According to Wikipedia, a blood alcohol level of 0.30 to 0.39 has behavioral symptoms of "Severe central nervous system depression; Unconsciousness; Death is possible."
