Don't say illegal immigrants never did anything for you. According to an estimate from the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy, households headed by "unauthorized immigrants" paid $662.4 million in taxes to New York state in 2010. Nationally, they paid about $11.2 billion in state and local taxes. It's probably because they're such hard workers.
California will get an estimated $2.7 billion in tax revenue from illegal immigrants, followed b y $1.6 billion for Texas, $806.8 million for Florida and then New York. ITEP writes, "These figures should be kept in mind as politicians and commentators continue with the seemingly endless debate over what to do with unauthorized immigrants already living in the United States. In spite of the fact that they lack legal status, these immigrants—and their family members—are adding value to the U.S. economy; not only as taxpayers, but as workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs as well." Just for kicks, Arizona earned $433.2 million in revenue from illegal immigrants, who must all be wearing Gringo Masks at this point.
