In a terrible accident yesterday, a West African immigrant was crushed to death by the Toyota pickup truck he was trying to ship home in a container truck. According to witnesses, Abdul Barry, 49, was standing inside the container when chains that suspended the truck above him snapped, and the vehicle crashed down on him. Barry moved to the US in 2005, working seven days a week selling T-shirts and socks in Harlem to send money back to his family. Even more sadly, he just had a child who he had never seen: "His wife just had a baby - his second daughter - one month ago...He's never seen his second child. Now he'll never see her." said his cousin, Issie Barrie.
