Before getting back to his grueling practice schedule* today, Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes stopped in to the Late Show last night. David Letterman and Tynes chat about his family and when he learned to kick (as a senior in high school). Tynes, the 29-year-old father of twins, who missed two 4th quarter field goals in the NFC Championship before kicking the game winner in overtime, was not able to escape ribbing from Letterman, "Everybody I know had the same reaction after the second missed kick in the 4th quarter, 'Please don't send him in again! For the love of God! If there's an ounce of mercy in your soul! Don't send him in!!'"

Tynes, who seemed rather cool under pressure, was relatively light on his toes for someone who isn't typically in front of the camera. Letterman asked what coach Tom Coughlin said to Tynes after the his first miss in the 4th quarter. Tynes responded, "You know, I never hear what he's saying." After his second miss with time expiring, Tynes said he was thinking, "What's it going to be like to live in Green Bay. I'm thinking, 'How am I going to get back on the charter plane?'"

*Tynes jokes that practice for him typically involves meetings in the morning (and not paying attention), 3 hours of dead time for him and punter Jeff Feagles, a lot of Internet, which includes trip planning for the Super Bowl.
