Giants legend Lawrence Taylor was sentenced to six years probation for his May 2010 encounter with a 16-year-old at a Holiday Inn in Montebello, NY. Earlier this year, Taylor agreed to plead guilty to patronizing a prostitute and sexual misconduct, avoiding statutory rape charges. He will have to register as a sex offender and must pay a fine, and his lawyer apologized on behalf of LT, "He never wanted to tarnish his image. Mr. Taylor readily accepts responsibility." But know who did want to tarnish LT's image further? Ubiquitous lawyer Gloria Allred, who is representing the now 17-year-old victim.
Allred brought the teen to the court to read a victim impact statement, only to find out that victims don't speak at misdemeanor sentencings, which is what Taylor had. Taylor's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, said of Allred's stunt (video), "This young woman is being victimized once again."
The victim, who called herself C.F., denied being a prostitute, "Every day I have to look in the mirror and know I am not the same...I believe Mr. Taylor could see my face and how young I was," refuting Taylor's claims that he thought she was 19 and referring to how the pimp who facilitated the encounter beat her. Allred added, "Lawrence Taylor should be in the hall of shame, not the Hall of Fame."
