- Yankees 3 Baltimore 1: Javier Vazquez pitched very well, working out of a jam in the seventh while striking out seven and allowing only one run. But, it seemed like all of that would go to naught because the Yankees couldn’t seem to take advantage of the opportunities they had. Curtis Granderson had a solo home run to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead, but that was it until the seventh. And then the Yankees got lucky. With runners on second and third and two outs, A-Rod hit a hard grounder to third that Miguel Tejada fielded and threw to first. His throw short-hopped the firstbaseman, Ty Wiggington and the ball bounced away allowing A-Rod to reach and both runners to score. The bullpen took it from there with Joba and Rivera keeping the O’s in check and the Yankees now have won four-of-five and six-of-eight.
- Mets 4 San Diego 2 Mike Pelfrey is doing it all again, allowing only four hits over eight innings. David Wright and Ike Davis had home runs.
