Atlanta 6 Mets 3: Thursday the Mets staged a huge comeback, Friday they were the victims of one. New York led 3-1 after seven innings before running into trouble in the 8th. Jon Niese surrendered a solo shot to Chipper Jones, but retired the next two hitters before being lifted from the game. Jason Isringhausen walked the first batter he faced, advanced him to second on a wild pitch and saw him score when Jose Reyes made a throwing error. That tied the game and after the Mets went down in the 8th, K-Rod came in for the 9th and blew up, surrendering three runs as Atlanta took the first game of the series.
Anaheim 3 Yankees 2 The Angels jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Yankees came back with single runs in the 2nd and 4th. Anaheim took the lead again in the bottom of the 4th, but they left the bases loaded as they missed a chance to blow open the game. Ultimately, it didn't matter as the Yankees' offense was anemic, managing only three hits.
