The NYPD has arrested a man they say assaulted three women on Wednesday night, all on West 111th Street in Central Harlem.

Police say they received a 911 call at around 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday from a 45-year-old woman who said she was just assaulted outside 263 West 111th Street near Frederick Douglass Boulevard. The woman described her assailant to police, and when two officers in uniform responded, they observed a man, identified as 55-year-old Edward Major, who matched her description heading eastbound on 111th Street. The victim was treated at St. Luke's Hospital for a broken nose, sprained elbow and contusions to her face.

After the victim allegedly identified the Major and police put him under arrest, cops then received another call about a robbery that also took place on 111th Street. The victim, a 59-year-old woman, told officers she was attacked by a man who fit Major's description while checking her mail; the suspect then allegedly stole her pocketbook. Surveillance video below shows a suspect violently attacking and kicking the victim:

Later, the arresting cops say they discovered a suspect matching Major's description had assaulted another woman at around 7:45 p.m. outside 121 West 111th Street near Malcolm X Boulevard. All three victims were brought in separately, and cops say they all identified Major.

He has been charged with felony assault, misdemeanor assault and a robbery charges following Wednesday's attacks; cops say he also robbed a Fine Fare Supermarket on Lenox Avenue near 112th Street last month, and charged him for that as well.
