Hey, Chicagoist, your nine-fingered mayor better watch it with the insults, mmkay? Cause in a recent magazine profile former White House chief of staff and current Windy City boss Rahm Emanuel let loose a nice dig at New Yorker's remarkable ability to bring everything back to the Capital of the World. It is like he's asking us to start piling on the Capital of the Midwest?

While doing a profile for a provincial publication called Michigan Avenue (think Madison Avenue but, how do we put this delicately, wider), the brother of talent agent Ari Emanuel overheard a New Yorker "raving" about the Chicago skyline before adding "but I still love New York." Rahm, it seems, didn't like that. He turned to the tourist and snapped: "That’s the thing about you New Yorkers. Always talking about how much you love your city. Here in Chicago, we just do."

And its true, in Chicago they just do things like eat cheese pie and call it pizza, enjoy two seasons (winter and construction), and take pride in barbaric parking rituals like "dibs." While we here in New York host the United Nations, they can't even keep a political summit. We will give 'em the Bulls though. For now.
