A Bushwick man is facing serious charges on Long Island after he allegedly contacted a 10-year-old girl on Long Island and tried to persuade her to engage in a sex act with him. The specific act he was interested in has not been disclosed to the public.

Police arrested John Burke, 35, of Brooklyn yesterday after he allegedly contacted the child of a family friend on Facebook earlier this month. He has been charged with disseminating indecent material to a child.

Burke was arrested in his Bushwick home and held overnight at the Suffolk County 7th Precinct police station. He will be arraigned later today in First District Court in Central Islip, according to officials.
