The 44th President's Inauguration is, naturally, front and center for newspapers. Many opted for shots of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama walking during the parade, with their enthusiasm palpable, while the images of Obama taking the oath of office were also options for the historic day. Yesterday was exciting but official, lacking the spontaneous amazement that November 4 brought (see November 5's newspaper front pages).

It's also an opportunity for newspapers to snatch up any extra business, by printing extensive inauguration sections. The NY Times is offering a copy of the November 5 edition and today's "PLUS a color 8" x 10" Obama photo by Times photographer Damon Winter, suitable for framing and available only through this special offer" and "a collectible inauguration lapel pin, designed exclusively for The Times by Christoph Niemann"—all with "FREE Ground shipping"—for $29.95. The Daily News has different of combinations of Inauguration Week editions for sale—for example, you can buy six editions for $38 or just two edition for $7.50. And don't worry—we expect special Inauguration editions of Time and Newsweek to be on stands soon, too.
