National Geographic Adventure was on hand for the Explorer’s Club Dinner, an event held each year at the Waldorf-Astoria for the group, whose intrepid members unanimously prefer things like skewered and charred antelope testicles over Friar’s Club-style roasts. The annual banquet is the kind of event where if you’re handed an appetizer called “Ants on Log,” chances are it’s not made with raisins and peanut butter. Last Saturday biologist E.O. Wilson was honored and delivered a keynote; crickets and carrot sticks were aplenty. The video of the evening features chamber music and grub canapés (seen here at right). One highlight: around 4:33, host Ryan Bradley boxes a kangaroo, who after a few preliminary rounds seems to express a clear desire to want to get the hell out of the Waldorf-Astoria. Check out the video (with hallowed, traditional stunt eating) over here.
