The victim and the murder suspect are both members of the U.S. military.

The Guatemalan immigrant who was murdered along with her two daughters filed a police report warning that her husband would kill her, but the NYPD never took action or bothered to translate her report into English.

Cops say they have recovered the gun used in the triple homicide and DNA linking the suspect to the crime—the DNA came from a shirt discarded by the suspect near the scene of the crime.

The police say the street where the men were killed is "probably one of the least trafficked blocks, certainly in that part of Manhattan."
