Revel mopeds will soon be a thing of the past on New York City’s streets; the company announced it would be shutting down its moped operations on Nov. 18.

The change, which goes into effect on Thursday, could allow companies including Uber, Lyft and Revel to deploy thousands more cars on city streets.

The death comes a little over a year after the death of two Revel riders in as many weeks forced the electric scooter sharing company to temporarily suspend service.

The blue moped share company will start with 50 Tesla taxis that can operate in Manhattan below 42nd street.

The TLC has scheduled a hearing for primary day on plans to close a loophole that would have allowed the Revel Tesla Taxis.

Helga Schnitker, an 82-year-old Upper West Side resident, was crossing Broadway at 60th Street when she was hit by the 23-year-old scooter operator on the morning of September 29th, according to the NYPD.

All users are required to complete a 21-question in-app quiz — sample questions: "Does Revel clean its helmets?" Answer: Yes — and watch a three minute instructional video.

"We’re reviewing and strengthening our rider accountability and safety measures and communicating with city officials, and we look forward to serving you again in the near future."

The electric moped company Revel has suspended 2,000 riders in six weeks.
