New York City's foam party is over.

But a City Council bill would see the latest ban overturned (again).

"Polystrene retains heat, so it's good for keeping food hot." It's also good for filling landfills with mountains of non-biodegradable waste that will last for centuries.

As expected, the city council passed a bill banning plastic foam food containers, though they won't physically disappear until July of 2015.

Foam food containers are on their way out, thanks to a bill that's poised to pass tomorrow.

Without increased recycling of plastics, a Styrofoam ban makes no sense.
