32-year-old Carlotta Brett-Pierce has been sentenced to a minimum of 32 years in prison. And the judge blasted her for not accepting responsibility for the death, calling her a "self-centered, volatile and belligerent woman."

The mother of Marchella Pierce—the severely malnourished 4-year-old girl who was found dead in her Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment with bruises all over her body—has been found guilty of murder.

The child didn't repeat his previous claims that his mother, Carlotta Brett-Pierce, forced pills down his sister’s throat and beat her with a belt. He did, however, refer to her as "my old mommy."

Prosecutors argued that it was essential to their case to let Brett-Pierce's six-year-old son, who previously told authorities that his mother forced pills down his sister’s throat and beat her with a belt, testify.

A detective testified at a hearing yesterday that Marchella Pierce's mother admitted she tied up the little girl several times: "Her words were, ‘She was acting crazy and her little ass was wilding out."

The father of a severely malnourished 4-year-old girl who died in her Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment last year, weighing a scant 18 pounds, is planning to sue the city for $150 million.
