History and civics nerds (like us) are gearing up to celebrate the landmark law's 60th birthday next year.

The protest was organized by the group Jewish Voice for Peace and drew hundreds. More than 200 people were taken into custody, the NYPD says.

The branch, which is located at 135 East 46th Street, will cease operations when its current lease is up on December 1st.

The NYPL is considering whether to permanently close the location when its lease runs out at the end of the year. "It’s an open secret within the library system."

"When subways are built into neighborhoods that are sparsely populated to begin with, people start moving there, because rapid transit makes it easier for you to live and work in two separate places."

It will include a full-service restaurant, a bar/gastropub, and grab-and-go food and beverage options. And there will be live "ambient background music."
