In the spirit of our continual effort to bridge the gap between blogging and hard-hitting reporting, we reached out to the Parks Department with a series of tough questions about Goat Heads.

The heads have been affixed to the lamp post on 5th Avenue and 9th Street since at least Saturday.

Good morning—it's Election Day, the sky is bright and clear, and a set of skinless goat heads are dangling from a traffic light in Park Slope.

Yesterday we received a few photos of a decapitated goat head found in Prospect Park. We ran those photos, and in return have received handfuls more photos of mutilated goats also found in the park.

It's been almost four years since a goat head was last found in Prospect Park (that we're aware of), so we were certainly about due for another.
