A train supervisor operating a 1 train from the middle car lost radio contact with a colleague shortly before the crash, the National Transportation Safety Board said on Thursday.

The MTA continues to investigate the cause of Wednesday’s derailment near the West 8th Street-New York Aquarium station.

Demetrius Harvard, 30, faces charges of reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, assault and criminal trespass.

The technology is federally mandated, but the MTA may not make the December 2020 deadline.

The 7:04 a.m. train bound for Jamaica was the first westbound train to leave Montauk this morning. However, travelers should still expect delays.

Trains are now running close to schedule.

No injuries have been reported.

'It's a daily disaster trying to get to work.'

Sheena Tucker said that she was trampled in a panic after the derailment and was diagnosed with a protruding disc in her spine.

The Transit Workers Union says "two Track Maintenance Supervisors [are] taking the hit."
