Police are seeking two suspects who allegedly shot a man who refused to give them his iPhone in the Bronx. The incident occurred last week, on January 18 around 6:30 p.m. when a 23-year-old man was walking on West 190th Street near Grand Avenue.

According to the Daily News, "The robbers demanded the man’s smartphone, but he refused. One of the assailants - described by police as a Latino male around 5-feet-7 and 150 lbs., wearing an expensive dark Marmot jacket, a black hoodie, blue jeans and black boots - whipped out his gun and pulled the trigger one time, sending a bullet into the young man’s back as he tried to run away."

The victim was treated for his injuries at St. Barnabas Hospital. The second suspect is described as a Latino male, "approximately 5’08, 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue New York Yankees cap, black jacket, black pants, and brown boots." Anyone with information is urged to contact NYPD Crimestoppers.

iPhone crime has been growing on subways and elsewhere. In September, a Brooklyn man was killed for his iPhone. The NYPD has been setting traps for iPhone thieves and last week the Port Authority arrested a teenage serial iPhone thief who had been terrorizing PATH riders.
